Santa Clara is centrally located in Silicon Valley sandwiched between Sunnyvale, Cupertino and San Jose. It was established in 1777 as a Spanish mission which attributes to its name. It is the site of the prestigious, private Catholic Santa Clara University. It is also home to Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers, Super Bowl XV and numerous national sporting events.
Many technology companies are headquartered in Santa Clara including Intel, the city’s largest employer. The downtown area features a variety of bustling shops and restaurants. The city features public transportation options with two train stations serviced by Amtrak, Caltrain and a light rail.
Santa Clara is also a great city for entertainment with California’s Great America amusement park, numerous museums and theatrical productions at the Center for Performing Arts.
